Workshop 3 – Nailing the Basics with Anna Carter

From winning the National U16’s Club title with a Lancashire club to landing her dream job at Leeds Beckett University coaching the Yorkshire Jets, Anna Carter has an impressive netball CV as a player and a coach. In 2018 she took Super League club Loughborough Lightning to the Grand Final, has been a pathway selector for England, as well as a technical support coach for the senior team and has spent time in Australia learning from some of the best coaches in the sport. Anna wants to push the overall standard of netball by investing in young athletes. Anna will be bringing some of the practices she uses within her Academy to ensure players have the basics needed to be successful on their netballing journey.
Workshop 4 – Circle Defending with Colette Thomson MBE

Colette has been coach of Premier League outfit Linden Netball Club for more than four decades, Colette also coached within the Vitality Netball Superleague , most recently as Assistant Coach with Wasps and with England Netball.
Learn from Colette Thomson about Circle Defence, look further into the role of the back two players and how they might switch in the circle.

Workshop 6 – Circle Attack with Denise Ellis
Wednesday 05th April 2023
Venue: Gloucester
Time: 6:30pm – 9pm
Denise is Head Coach of Exeter University and Exeter Prem Netball Team. Her career as a coach includes working with Team Bath and England. Denise will look at how the shooters can work together to counteract the defence, introduce basic strategies relating to holds and overloads and how shooters can screen in the circle.

Workshop 8 – Netball Super League Match Day with Denise Ellis, includes ticket to the match

Match Day – Managing the Bench
Denise is an experienced coach having worked in a range of performance programmes including the England Roses pathway academy programme and Team Bath Super League. Denise will take you through how to check and challenge current practice in the management of the bench in relation to who you are coaching, how to apply your personal philosophy (performance decisions) to bench, match play and post-match situations. Denise will introduce some of the match day management team and discuss their roles and responsibilities during game day.
This workshop will run prior to the NSL Match, a ticket to the match is included in the price.
Workshop 9 – Shooting MaserClass with Sigi Burger and Grace Namana

Venue: University of Worcester, St Johns Campus Sports Hall, WR2 6AJ
Time: 6:30pm – 9pm
Severn Stars NSL Shooting duo Sigi and Grace will be taking the players through the essential movements within the circle. They will take the young stars through game strategies linked to shooter rotation, balancing the circle, ‘T’ position and the support of attacking players on the circle edge.
