Bethan Dyke to miss remainder of 2021 season

Severn Stars mid-courter, Bethan Dyke will miss the remainder of the 2021 Vitality Netball Super League (VNSL) season after a confirmed ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) injury to her right knee. Bethan Dyke was injured during the first quarter of the Severn Stars versus Celtic Dragons VNSL fixture on Sunday 4th April.

Following an assessment and scan, the injury has been confirmed as an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) rupture which will require Bethan to sit out the rest of the VNSL season. Bethan is due to undergo surgery and Severn Stars will continue to support Bethan through her rehabilitation.

Bethan will remain part of the Severn Stars squad this season in a specialist coaching capacity. As an experienced Superleague and Welsh international player, the Severn Stars team will benefit from Bethan’s coaching input.

Bethan said: “I am devastated that I won’t be able to continue playing this season but I will be supporting the team from the sideline. I am feeling positive about the rehab journey ahead and I would like to say a special thanks to everyone at Severn Stars and Welsh Netball. Also, thank you to everyone who has sent messages of support.”

A replacement for Bethan has not been confirmed. Everyone at Severn Stars wishes Bethan a speedy recovery and we are sure she will return to the court stronger than ever.
